How our pineapple enzyme works
When we ferment pineapple waste with sugar and water, it creates our pineapple enzyme, which consists of several enzymes, including protease, amylase and lipase.
These component enzymes break down proteins, carbohydrates and fats respectively into smaller particles that are easier for surfactants (detergents, soaps) and water to clean away.
Adding enzymes to detergents improves their cleaning efficiency and works wonders on stains that soap alone can’t shift.
Commercial surfactants can contain ingredients that cause skin reactions. But we have carefully chosen surfactants derived from natural sources like coconut, which are much more gentle and non-toxic.
Our pineapple enzyme deserves co-ingredients as natural and effective as it is!
Benefits of enzyme-based cleaning products
● Non-toxic and safe. Enzymes are biological not chemical and are not harmful or likely to cause allergic reactions.
● Effective cleaning. By breaking down gunk into smaller particles, enzymes make it easier for surfactants and water to do their jobs.
● Work well even at lower temperatures. No need to use hot water - enzyme-based cleaners work perfectly even with cold tap water. This can help reduce your energy and water consumption.
● A little goes a long way. Only low concentrations are needed to be effective, reducing costs, packaging and carbon footprints.
● Fully biodegradable. Enzymes are non-polluting and can also improve the waterways they end up in by continuing to break down organic waste.
